His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was pictured on the cover of the January 8, 2006 issue of the New York Times during his visit to New Orleans, where he surveyed the physical and environmental damage caused by Hurricane Katrina.  While in New Orleans, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew prayed for the victims and also for those whose lives were affected by the catastrophic events.
