Alympius (Olympius)
Bishop of Byzantium. He succeeded Laurence in the second half of the second century AD. The date when he became the bishop of Byzantium has not been clarified. It is somewhere between 166 and 197. Additionally, the time for which he remained on the bishopric throne (13th in order) is also not known. Hence some consider his service to have lasted three years, whereas others elong it to 13 years. The most likely opinion, which is accepted by Manuel Gedeon and Chrysostomos Papadopoulos, is that he shephered Byzantium from 166 until 169.
