Demophilus
Patriarch of Constantinople, elected by the Arians, as he was of the same beliefs.
He was from Thessalonika, and became bishop of Verroia in Macedonia. He
then was transfered to the Bishopric of Constantinople, at the work of
Theodore bishop of Heraclia, despite the people not wanting him.
Theodosius the Great removed the Arians from the temples within
Constantinople and elsewhere, and gave them back to the Orthodox, in
879, also expelled Demophilus, who had his services outsided
Constantinople, with Lucius of Alexandria, who was also an Arian.
After a while, he left to his country Verroia, where he (probably) died in 385, as we figure out from Socrates the historian.
