The Right Reverend Theodoritos (Polyzogopoulos), Bishop of Nazianzos,
was born in Athens in 1948. He holds a B.A. in Theology (1972) and a
B.A. in Philosophy (1976) from the University of Athens and a Ph.D. in
Philosophy (1979) from the University of Manchester. He was ordained
Deacon in Athens on September 9, 1972 and Priest in London on September
17, 1972. On March 9, 2000, he was elected Bishop of Nazianzos
(Cappadocia) by the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. He was
ordained on March 18, 2000 at St. George’s Patriarchal Church in
Constantinople. He served the Greek-Orthodox communities of Cambridge,
Manchester, St. Nicholas Shepherd's Bush London, St. Paraskevi Athens.
He taught history of Ancient Greek Philosophy, Theology and Christian
Ethics at Athens College
